Magic Rentals began as a private investors company that specialised in buying property, adding value through renovation and development, then selling at a profit. Thanks to our early roots as property investments, we really do understand what’s important to property owners.
The founder of Magic Rentals is Tim Ellis. As an owner of multiple properties he became fed up with the quality of service he received from the real estate industry. He could do things differently … and a lot better!
So he started helping friends and family with managing their properties and from these small beginnings, the business has grown into what it is today.
We’re proud that we do things differently. Our staff are property investors too and we specialise in delighting our clients with a new level of service and professionalism. Our business is growing rapidly as a result of this commitment to excellence.

As a young automotive technician Tim’s passion for property investment was ignited at an early stage in his career. So to learn more about wealth creation he attended the University of Adelaide as a mature age student to eventually complete a Bachelor of Finance with a high distinction average. His degree focussed on financial analysis and mathematical financial modelling. That’s where he learned his wizardry with identifying great deals!
Tim worked for Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants in their Insolvency division before moving into a federal government department where he worked in debt collection for several years all the while building his own property investment portfolio.
In 2007 Tim went full time into running his own private renovation and development company before starting Magic Property Group now known as Magic Rentals in 2010.
Tim has personally owned over 25 investment properties and has been involved in many more projects with his clients. He continues to invest today.
Tim is a fully licensed Land Agent.
Ali has always had a keen interest in real estate and started her investment portfolio at 27.
A member of the Magic Rentals team since 2017, Ali joins us after a decade long career in the health care sector. She brings maturity, a strong client focus and organisational skills, gained from being an emergency nurse, applying this to her passion for property.
With a Certificate in Residential Property Management from the Real Estate Institute of South Australia, Ali has up to date industry knowledge.
Being both a tenant and an owner, Ali understands the needs of both the tenant and the landlord, and is passionate about managing property to make it an enjoyable experience for all involved.
Rebecca has always had a passion for real estate and customer service, so it was natural for her to pursue a career in property management. Having experience as a tenant, an owner-occupier and a landlord, Rebecca has a solid understanding of how to get the best outcomes. Managing complex situations and relationships is where Rebecca excels and she enjoys resolving difficult and tricky scenarios.
Rebecca has worked as a Team Leader in the Telstra Complaint Management Team and has developed exemplary dispute resolution skills after a lot of experience in this environment. Rebecca stays up to date with industry knowledge and technical skills and has a Certificate in Property Management from the Real Estate Training College, and is a fully licensed Property Manager in South Australia.
Rebecca continues to build strong relationships and enjoys meeting new people every day, while continuing a rewarding career with Magic Rentals.
Michael loves property in addition to helping others achieve their goals, so when he entered the property management industry in 2017 everything fell into place and his passion continues to grow.
Michael has extensive work experience from different industries which puts him in a great position for property management which requires diverse skills. Michael has worked as an Automotive Technician, Graphic Designer and Landscaper, as well as running his own textiles business.
Michael has completed a Certificate IV in Property Services from the Real Estate Training College and is a fully licensed Property Manager in South Australia, and continues to build his career with Magic Rentals.
Jackson is passionate about providing exceptional levels of customer service and having worked within the retail & hospitality sector for a number of years, his skills in this area are strong.
Having a keen interest in the property market and real estate industry for several years, it was only natural that he would move into the field when the opportunity arose.
Jackson is a highly motivated and ambitious individual and has a ‘can do’ attitude to everything he does. Having joined the team in 2020, Jackson is looking forward to building his career with Magic Rentals.
