Magic Rentals began as a private investment company that specialised in buying property, adding value through renovation and development, then selling at a profit. Thanks to our early roots as property investors, we really do understand what’s important to property owners.
The founder of Magic Rentals is Tim Ellis. As an owner of multiple properties he became fed up with the quality of service he received from the real estate industry. He could do things differently… and a lot better! So he started helping friends and family with managing their properties and from these small beginnings, the business has grown into what it is today.
We’re proud about doing things differently. Our staff are property investors too and we specialise in delighting our clients with a new level of service and professionalism. Our business is growing rapidly as a result of this commitment to excellence.

As a young automotive technician Tim’s passion for property investment was ignited at an early stage in his career. So to learn more about wealth creation he attended the University of Adelaide as a mature age student to eventually complete a Bachelor of Finance with a high distinction average. His degree focused on financial analysis and mathematical financial modelling. That’s where he learned his wizardry with identifying great deals!
Tim worked for Ernst & Young Chartered Accountants in their Insolvency division before moving into a federal government department where he worked in debt collection for several years, all the while building his own property investment portfolio.
In 2007 Tim went full time into running his own private renovation and development company before starting Magic Property Group now known as magic rentals in 2010.
Tim has personally owned over 25 investment properties and has been involved in many more projects with his clients. He continues to invest today.
Claire had already purchased two properties before she was 20. She is passionate about property investment and knows what it’s like to be a landlord.
Having worked in several top end real estate companies including Phillis Real Estate, HLB Mann Judd Property and Magain Real Estate, Claire has developed extensive experience in managing properties. Her particular talent is in managing all the many day-to-day details involved in looking after tenants and identifying ways to maximise returns and value to investors.
Claire has a passion for learning new skills and developing systems to make our office run more efficiently. She has an outstanding service ethic.
Through her participation in professional associations, Claire maintains her knowledge of current National and International legislation and developments in the property industry.
Business Development Manager
As a long term Property Investor, Trevor has extensive experience in real estate investment strategies. For 10 years he operated as a mortgage broker franchisee, Go Loans in West Lakes. Prior to working as a mortgage broker Trevor worked for 30 years as a civil engineering designer for most of the major consultants here in Adelaide. He graduated with a Certificate in Surveying in his early 20s and since then has attained a Certificate IV in Financial Services.
Trevor has developed and owns multiple investment properties, in fact he was a client of ours before joining our company in 2014. He has completed a property development course and attended many seminars about property investment over the past 15 years, gaining a thorough understanding of strategies and structures for successful property investment.
Trevor shares our passion for excellence in client service and offers investors a down to earth understanding of the advantages of property as an investment vehicle. He endeavours to provide dedicated service for our clients to exceed their expectations.
